Updated CNA I Program Structure – 129 Hours
The Nurse Aide 1 Program hours has changed to 129 hours: 36 lecture; 60 skills; 33 clinical hours. This program is a NC State approved training course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities. Students will be taught the proper way to care for residents/patients with empathy. This includes principles of basic personal care (hygiene, grooming, bathing), dressing, feeding, transferring, and assisting with mobility. Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), monitoring and documenting appropriately to the Registered Nurse.
Enrollment Requirements for All Programs
- TB Test (within the last 12 months)
- Social Security Card (non-laminated)
- Physical Examination (within the last 12 months)
- Criminal Background Check (within the last 12 months)
- Valid Driver’s License or Government issued identification
- Completed Application Form with (non-refundable fee $50)
- Graduated High School Transcript/GED or College Transcript
- International Credential Evaluation
