
The Nurse Aide 1 Program hours has changed to 129 hours: 36 lecture; 60 skills; 33 clinical hours. This program is a NC State approved training course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities. Students will be taught the proper way to care for residents/patients with empathy. This includes principles of basic personal care (hygiene, grooming, bathing), dressing, feeding, transferring, and assisting with mobility. Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), monitoring and documenting appropriately to the Registered Nurse.
